Every government puts out rubbish, and makes big mistakes and tries to hide them. The proposed 'misinformation/disinformation' law would/will make it much easier for the government to put out rubbish and to hide its big mistakes; that is its intention. The purpose is to strengthen the powers of the ruling élite.

part of the problem Philip is that this legislation was allegedly initiated by the Morrison government. I don't know the actual facts of this but if so it points to the parliament (left or right aligned) being controlled by the bureaucracy. Will the Dutton government oppose this legislation? Im unaware of their position at this point.

This goes along with the Fabian Society agenda, l find it odd that it’s scoffed at when they have their own websites.

They are creating their own’truth’ with the likes of Bruce Pascoe’s rantings which will be protected by this law.
